Error: "Another user in your organization has already connected to this buyer. Please create a new user."
Symptom

When I try to sign in to view a sourcing event, I get the following error message:
Another user in your organization has already connected to this buyer. Please create a new user.

Cause

The account (User ID) you are attempting to use is associated with a separate SAP Business Network account ID (ANID) which does not match your company's account (ANID) that is already connected with the system of the inviting customer.

Resolution

If you wish to identify which account (ANID) is connected with the inviting customer's system please contact the customer's representative who sent you the invitation. The customer will be able to provide the details of your company's accounts that are connected in their system.

Once the connected account has been identified you can review whether you have a separate User ID that already belongs to the connected ANID, and which you could use to connect with the customer. Alternatively you could contact the administrator of the connected account and ask them to add you as a new sub-user.

If you do not have a User ID associated with the connected ANID, or if you receive new account credentials from the administrator of the connected ANID, please follow these steps to create a new account and access the customer's event or questionnaire:

  1. In the invitation email from your customer > Click Here link.
  2. Click Create a new account.
  3. Uncheck the box next to Use my email as my username.
  4. Enter a username that is different from any of your existing User IDs.
Usernames are not required to be a valid email address, but they must be formatted as one. Ex: If your email is first.lastname@company.com, use first.lastname1@company.com.

  5. Enter a new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields.
Passwords must contain a minimum of eight characters including upper and lower case letters, numeric digits, and special characters.

You can use the same password as your existing account.

  6. Review the Terms of Use and SAP Ariba Privacy Statement and tick the box next to each indicating your acceptance.
  7. Click Create Account, then click Skip review on the box that says Possible existing accounts.
