REGAN-1654
This feature provides the following enhancements to the transaction data deletion and retention policy for Ariba Network:
- Recurring deletion and one-time deletion: In addition to being able to request recurring deletion of transaction data, users can now request a one-time deletion of data.
- Download of transaction documents identified for deletion: After documents are identified for deletion, users have up to thirty days to download the ZIP files.
- Additional document types can be deleted: Spot quotes and proof of services are now supported for deletion.
Customers were not able to delete documents before a specified date. Customers had to raise service requests to get their data deleted. This would results in long cycle times of data deletion.
SAP has established a Data Deletion Policy for purposes of transparency and in order to formalize the parameters of retention or deletion of data on Ariba Network, including the ability of users of Ariba Network to download and delete their transaction data. Customers will now be able to configure data deletion using self-service or a one-time data deletion process. In addition, customers will be able to independently download their transaction data that is due for deletion.

This feature is for users with the following permission:
Company Data Deletion Configuration - for requesting recurring or one-time deletion of transaction data.
Transaction Data Export for Deleted Data - for downloading deleted transaction data files.
This feature affects transaction data only. Other types of data, such as company data and user data, aren’t affected.
This feature doesn't affect archived invoices, which are stored separately.
Once a document has been identified for deletion, it’s deleted regardless if you later opt out of data deletion.
Please carefully configure the retention period for transaction documents. Deletion of transaction documents is an irreversible process. You can’t retrieve any transaction documents after they're deleted by the system.
If you're using long-term archiving services, we strongly recommend that you specify a retention period for transaction documents that is greater than or equal to the longest archiving retention period legally required by countries/regions where you operate. If the system deletes your invoices, you can't search for those invoices in SAP Business Network. Your archived invoices, however, continue to be retained by TrustWeaver or Sovos (third-party systems that SAP Business Network uses to archive invoices) for the full legal retention period.
