Symptom

What is the difference between Link User ID and an Linking Accounts?

Resolution

The Linked Accounts option keeps all accounts open, but links them together with one main account acting as the parent, and the other accounts as children. When logged in as the parent account, you have the ability to log in as the child accounts to access their information and transactions. For further information, please see How do I link accounts as my child accounts?

The Linking user IDs option allows you to sign in to one account, then seamlessly switch to any other linked usernames with a click instead of having to logout and log back in with a different user ID. The following article provides more information about linking user IDs, How do I use the Link User IDs option?

Please note once you have linked your user IDs you cannot remove this option from your account.

However, you can unlink a child account from the parent account.
