Why am I unable to locate the Customer Administrator group or other sensitive groups?
I am searching for a variety of groups but I am unable to find them to add users to.
Within the application, there are certain groups which carry sensitive permissions.
Sensitive permission groups may only be searched(or modified) if a user is a member of a group already granted the necessary sensitive permissions, such as Customer Administrator. The visibility limitation for end users also applies for custom groups which are children of the listed sensitive group(s).
If no users have membership to the group containing sensitive permissions, the group will not appear within the application search results nor data export.
Some groups which can only be viewed by members already in each unique group, due to the attached sensitive permissions, are as follows:
- Customer Administrator
- Integration Administrator
- Purchasing Agent
- Purchasing Manager
- Procurement Agent
- Procurement Manager
- Audit User
- Commodity Code Manager
- Event Administrator
- Supplier Risk Manager
- Surrogate Bidder
- Sourcing Project Administrator
- Limited Event Administrator
- Act As
You can read further below:
- See User unable to find group during profile change article for more information.
- Note, this visibility restriction is hard coded in the current system design and cannot be modified.
- If a user is to have visibility on a sensitive group and also have the power to assign it to others or modify the group mapping, then the user must have both Customer User Admin or Customer Administrator and the sensitive group.
- Attempt to modify sensitive groups by data import by unauthorized users will prompt a system error response; Error: Sensitive group (GROUP) cannot be updated by user 'USERID'...
