Error: Sensitive group (GROUP) cannot be updated by user 'USERID'...
Question

Why is the below error encountered when the user is trying to load the GroupSharedUserMap.csv file through Import User Group Mapping task? Or GroupConsolidated.csv through Import User to Group Mapping Data (Consolidated File)? How can the error be resolved?

IntegrationPostUpdateGroup: Sensitive group (GROUP NAME) cannot be updated by user 'USERS UNIQUENAME' since that user doesn't have the sensitive permissions associated with the group

Answer

This error message usually occurs because of the below reasons:

  1. The user in the error message is not a member of the affected group
  2. The user in the error message does not have permission to include this group in imports nor update through the user interface

Additionally, in some cases, the group may be a parent or a child group being imported.

Administrators can resolve this by either having the user in the error message assigned to the child or directly to the parent group stated in the error and re-import it.

Additional Information

Refer to Support Note 187824 for a list of sensitive groups.
