I have received a notification stating that MFA has been enabled for my account. What do I need to do?
Question

I have received an email notification stating that Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) has been enabled for my SAP Business Network account.

How do I configure my account in SAP Business Network for multifactor authentication, as required by my account Administrator?

Answer

Next time you login to SAP Business Network, you will be presented instructions to setup your account for MFA. If you skip this configuration after logging in, follow the steps below to configure your account:

  1. On the dashboard, click Account Settings > My Account
  2. Click Set up multi-factor authentication
  3. Download and install SAP Authenticator or any compatible authenticator application such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your hand-held device
  4. Open the authenticator application that you have installed on your mobile device and do either one of the following:
    1. Scan the QR code displayed on the page, and enter the code in Time-based Verification Code, or
    2. Enter the secure key displayed on the page in Time-based Verification Code
  5. Click Done

Note that you won't be able to login to SAP Business Network after the due date for the MFA setup if you don't perform this configuration. It is highly recommended that you set up this feature immediately after receiving the email notification. The due date is stated in the email notification you received.

If you need your account to be unlocked or reset, contact your account Administrator.

Additional Information

Multi-factor authentication is a two-step verification process where users are required to authenticate themselves a second time using a time-based verification code. As compared to the single step authentication process, the multi-factor authentication process provides enhanced security.
