Error "Plant is not acceptable" while trying to delegate
Symptom

When I try to delegate authority to someone, I get the error:

Plant is not acceptable

Cause

Plant is required data, and this message occurs when there's no Shipping Address defined for a user. The application validates through PurchaseOrgCombo in the source code and checks if the plantID is valid. PlantID is the same as ShipTo, and there are required fields (see What is the Data Dictionary and how do I access it?) for the PlantID to be valid.

Resolution

Check if all required fields for Plants Data Export/Import have a valid value:

  1. Go to Manage > Core Administration
  2. Click on Data Import/Export
  3. Click the Export tab
  4. Search for the Plants Data task.
  5. Click Export

You can update missing data on Plants using the Import Plants Data task.

See Also

In case the user does not have or will never have a Shipping Address, you have two options:

  1. Import a Plant with blank values and use it for these users.
  2. Contact the SAP Services team to create a customization to make the Plant not required.
