How do I upgrade a template in Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP)?

Resolution

A template upgrade allows you to change the version of a template being used in existing projects to the latest one. It is meant to be used when you have made changes to a project template that need to be reflected in currently published projects that are using the previous version of the template.

To perform a template upgrade:

  1. Click Manage > SM Administration.
  2. On the left, click Template Upgrade.
  3. Select the appropriate Project template and Template title dropdown menu, choose the name of the template for the update
  4. Optional: If you want to upgrade project templates of a specific supplier, provide their vendor ID in the SM Vendor ID field. SM Vendor ID is an optional field. If you don't input a supplier ID, and then click Find projects, the Start upgrade table displays all of your site's projects that are based on the template you've selected.
  5. Choose Find projects
  6. In the table, locate the template version that you want to upgrade to the currently published version and choose one of the following:
    • Upgrade: Choose this option to mass upgrade all eligible projects to the most recent version.

    • Upgrade via Import: Choose this option to upgrade specific suppliers to the most recent version.

  7. Perform one of the following actions:
    • If the validation doesn't identify any issues, choose Next.
    • If the validation identifies issues that you want to address, revert the template to a version before the change was introduced and proceed with edits from there before performing the upgrade.

  8. Choose Upgrade. Then click Upgrade status tab to monitor the upgrade progress and download status summary information.

NOTE: To notify primary supplier contacts that there are changes to external questionnaires that require their attention, perform the following actions:

  1. Choose Notify supplier's primary contact about the upgrade.
  2. Enter an optional message to insert into the notification to supplier contacts about the template upgrade

The Start upgrade tab shows a table with a row for each previous template version that is in use by at least one project. Each row shows the total number of projects in the site that are still using that template version and the number of those projects that are currently eligible for upgrade. To find details about eligible suppliers, choose Export in the Supplier details column and export the supplier details for the template in each row. Download the file from the Export supplier status tab.

To upgrade for a specific supplier:

  1. If you want to upgrade project templates of a specific supplier, provide their vendor ID in the SM Vendor ID field. SM Vendor ID is an optional field. If you don't input a supplier ID, and then click Find projects, the Start upgrade table displays all of your site's projects that are based on the template you've selected.

  2. Upgrade via Import: Choose this option to upgrade specific suppliers to the most recent version. To upgrade specific suppliers:
    • From the file that you downloaded in the previous step, delete any supplier rows that you don't wish to upgrade.

    • Choose Upgrade via Import.

    • Navigate and choose the updated file from your computer.

    • Click Validate.
