How do I import or export commodity codes in my site?
Users who have access to run data import tasks can import commodity codes:
- Create or update the commodity code file you plan to load. Refer to the data dictionary for the columns in this file and sample values.
- Go to Manage > Administration or Core Administration (in case the site is suite integrated).
- Access the Site Manager > Data Import/Export section.
- On the Import tab, search for the Import System Commodity Codes task.
- Click Import next to this task, and choose the desired import operation.
- Browse for your commodity code file, and click Run.
- Click OK to confirm the import.
- If you have a multi-ERP setup (parent and child sites), make sure to create and enable commodity codes at the parent site level. Change to commodity codes in the parent site are replicated to the appropriate child sites within five to ten minutes.
- Import translations for commodity codes using the Import Translations for System Commodity Codes task (refer to the data dictionary for the columns in this file and sample values).
- You can't import commodity codes or their translations through the SAP Ariba integration toolkit.
- Get a full list of system commodity codes by running the Export Commodity Codes task in the Site Manager > Data Import/Export section.
- Manage smaller commodity code updates in the Commodity Code Manager workspace without loading a file.
- Map commodity codes from one domain to another (for example, from UNSPSC to a custom domain).
- In case you have more than 65535 commodities and need to export them, please use the Export Commodity Codes (CSV) option.
