How can I set up Notification Preferences for all users in the system?
How can I disable Notification Preferences for all users in the system?
The Application.ACM.DefaultNotificationPreferencesUser parameter can be defined with a User ID and that user's Notification Preferences will be the defaulted for any newly created users or users who have no changes in the default notification preferences yet.
This will not be applied to the users who have already changed the default notification preferences and customized them.
Also, make sure that you create a dummy enterprise user account and set the notification preferences that need to be applied to all of the users. Changing the notification preferences for this user account changes the default notification preferences accordingly.
By default the value for the Application.ACM.DefaultNotificationPreferencesUser parameter is aribasystem. Hence, the newly created users will have all the email notifications enabled by default.
The parameter considers only the Enterprise User id as a value. Hence, this solution does not work if you provide the user id of a third-party enterprise user.
If you have Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled for your site, and would not be able to log in as an dummy enterprise user directly to set the notification preferences, please follow these steps:
Warning: If you are working in an integrated site, you cannot change a user's Type. These steps will not apply. Recommendations is to set a user who can pass through SSO as the default notification user for the site.
This parameter is NOT called/used when the site is Suite Integrated. Please see KBA 170336-Purpose of Email Notification Manager administration option for more information about Email Notification Manager.
Additionally the StopProjectandTaskEmail parameter would disable almost all notifications from the site to users.
