cXML document from SAP Business Network fails with error "Authentication failed for Sender [AN01000000001]"
When a commerce extensible Markup Language (cXML) document is sent from the SAP Business Network to an SAP Ariba Procurement solution, the transaction fails with the following error message:
Authentication failed for Sender [AN01000000001] at Domain [NetworkID]
- SAP Business Network
- SAP Ariba Procurement solutions
- cXML Integration
Send a cXML document (such as an invoice) from an SAP Business Network account to an integrated SAP Ariba Procurement solution.
This error occurs for one of two reasons:
- The shared secret on your SAP Business Network buyer account does not match the shared secret configured in your SAP Ariba Procurement solution.
- The End Point Configuration in your SAP Business Network account is pointing to an invalid or incorrect URL.
To resolve the authentication failure, you must ensure the shared secret and End Point Configuration are correct.
If the shared secret is mismatched:
- Submit a Case through SAP for Me to request a reset of the shared secret for your SAP Business Network account.
- Once you receive the new shared secret from SAP Support, you must update this value in your SAP Ariba Procurement solution to match.
- Note: For on-demand buyers, SAP Support must also copy the updated shared secret value to the procurement, invoicing, and sourcing site profiles. Please confirm this with the support engineer handling your case.
To validate the endpoint:
- Validate that your End Point Configuration is pointing to a valid URL for receiving cXML documents.
- For the guided buying request for quote (RFQ) flow, see the guide How to configure end points for guided buying.
