Are email notifications customizable?
SAP Support cannot customize the following items related to email notifications:
- Changes to the subject line of the email notification.
- Requests to disable certain email notification for all users.
- Changes to the body of the email notification.
You can change the display and format of email notifications via the following parameters:
- Application.Base.PreferredEmailFormat: Specifies the preferred format for email messages sent from your site. Valid values are HTML and TEXT.
- Application.Base.NotificationFromNameKey: Defines the name string used in the From name of email notifications. The default value for your production site is Ariba Administrator, this value is used if nothing is customized. This setting does not affect the "from" name for approval email notifications.
- In the approval email notification, you can control the text content that appears after Reason, as the text that you see as Reason comes from the tool tip of the corresponding approval node. To change the Reason text, follow the below steps:

- Click Manage > Approval Processes.
- Search for the required Approvable Type.
- Click the Active and select Search.
- Click on the Title against Type.
- Go to the corresponding approval node which contains the Reason text and click on it.
- Scroll down to Action and change the Reason as desired and click Check In and Activate.
- For Service Sheet approval email notifications, you can ask SAP Support to include header-level and line-level field information in the email body. Keep in mind that this is not available for accounting fields.
Application.Base.NotificationFromNameKey parameter not support '@' in the name string, it will cause failures to send email notifications.
