How to set up email domain blocking for creating a new supplier account?
Symptom

I need to block my organization's email domain from allowing new supplier account registrations.

Cause

Resolution

To block new supplier account registrations using your company's email domain, you must be logged in with an administrator username. To confirm if you are logged in with an administrator account, click [User initials] > Contact Administrator. If you see your name and email, you are the administrator. If you see another person's name, please reach out to them and ask them to follow the below steps.

You must also be logged into the SAP Business Network. To confirm you are logged into the SAP Business Network, look in the upper left corner of your account. If you do not see the words Business Network, click the drop down arrow and select Business Network.

To register your company domain:

  1. Click the [user initials] in the upper right corner > Settings > Manage Account Email Domains.
  2. Click the blue Edit button in the upper right corner.
  3. Check the box under Claim Domain. This will allow you to choose either Permit or Block under Walkup Registration, Procurement Registration, and Sourcing and SLP Registration. If you choose Block, new users will not be allowed to create new accounts with your company email domain. If you choose Permit, new users can use the company email domain to create a new account.
  4. If you do not block all forms of account registration, you can turn on the option to receive notifications when a new user registers with the company domain. Check the box under the notifications section.

Whenever a new supplier account is created, a unique Ariba Network ID (ANID) is generated, regardless of your company's existing Ariba account status.

If someone invited by your customer creates a new account, thereby generating a new ANID linked to a specific customer, all other employees from your company invited by the same customer through that organization profile must have their usernames tied to this ANID to access events. If they attempt to Access with an existing account using a different ANID than the initial one, they will encounter an error message: Another user in your organization has already connected to this buyer. Please create a new user.

Other invited employees can gain access by choosing the Create a new account option. Since an ANID is already linked to the customer, their new users will automatically share the same ANID as the original account.

If each employee registers a separate user account, the generation of random ANIDs may lead to an accumulation of accounts.
