Steps to update new domain URLs of SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management and SAP Business Network application in SAP ERP or SAP S/4 HANA environments
Current ARBCI1 Addons has pre-shipped URLs to connect to SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management and SAP Business Network application. But as per notification you need to upgrade to new standard domain URLs.
SAP is standardizing common domain names across all SAP products. These changes aim to provide consistent product branding. To align with this standard, SAP will be introducing new domain names for all URLs used to connect with SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network.
Follow these steps to upgrade to new domain URLs that are available since 27 September 2024.
Steps to follow in ARBCI1 Addon installed SAP ERP or SAP S/4 HANA Systems connecting directly:
- Identify the SAP ERP system (for eg: Test/Prod) where you want to update new domain URLs.
- Follow steps mentioned in SAP Note # 3494785 This step is required for ARBCI1 Addon SP21 and below. SP22 and above can skip this step and proceed with next steps below.
- Ensure ARBCIG_CIG_URL table is updated with latest URLs as per notification. You may use SE16n tcode to review updated ARBCIG_CIG_URL table.
- Run Setup interface via SPRO steps to update all outbound interfaces related to Ariba applications you use. Direct program or tcode for same are as following:
- Ariba Network SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP tcode: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_EXE
- Ariba Procurement SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP_P2P tcode: ARBCIG_IF_SETUP_P2P
- Ariba Sourcing/Contracts/SLP SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP_SRC tcode: ARBCIG_IF_SETUP_SRC
- MDNI SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP_MDNI tcode: ARBCIG_MDNI_INTSETUP
- Once Setup interface is successfully executed, check destinations via soamanager ping tests.
- Update the new hostnames in SM59 RFC Destinations to match the Test or Production environments.
Other points to consider:
- We recommend to test first in non-prod environment as a best practice.
- No IP changes, only domains are changing. If your system's external connections are restricted based on domains, new ones should be allowed in respective proxy/firewalls.
- Root and intermediate certificates remain same as current, so no need to import new domain certificate for establishing connection.
- Certificate used for client certificate remains unchanged and current domain related to this continue until their expiry and later renewed with relevant new domains accordingly. Regular certificate notifications to follow.
- TLS 1.3 supported since Aug-29-2024, and the new domains continue support the same along with TLS 1.2 strong ciphers.
- New domain URLs have to be manually updated per outbound interface in SAP PI or SAP CPI middleware or IES configured S/4 HANA Public Cloud or Private Cloud (aka S/4 HANA On-Premise) systems connecting to SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network application.
- New Domain Name will be part of ARBCI1 SP22 and above Addon releases. If above steps executed already no action required after SP22 upgrade, if not follow all steps except 2.
- Step 2 alone needs to be repeated after SP upgrade lesser than SP22 because ARBCIG_CIG_URL table contents get overwritten with SP upgrades.
- Both current and new domain will operate concurrently for a period specified in the decommission date of notification. We strongly recommend planning, testing and adopting new domains in all your connecting environments before the decommission date of the current domain to avoid integration disruptions.
- Post update URL program execution, the unmodified rows in ARBCIG_CIG_URL table starting with TAUP, TAUT, TCPT and TCRT is expected. TAUP, TAUT belongs Taulia Addon. If you use Taulia integration please contact Taulia support. TCPT, TCRT are related to regression test central. If you are not using those you can ignore the unmodified entries.
- The URLs used in SAP Ariba applications to connect with SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network application will be managed internally so no action is required from the customer in this regard.
