How do I update new domain URLs for the SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management and SAP Business Network application in my SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA environment?
My current ARBCI1 Add-ons have pre-shipped URLs to connect to the SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management, and SAP Business Network application, but based on the notification EV33942093 - SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network Domain Name Standardization I received, I need to upgrade to the new standard domain URLs.
- Managed Gateway for Spend&Network
- SAP ERP Central Component (ECC)
- SAP S/4HANA
SAP is standardizing common domain names across all SAP products. These changes aim to provide consistent product branding. To comply with this standard, you will need to use the new domain names that SAP is introducing for all URLs used to connect with SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management, and SAP Business Network.
Follow these steps to upgrade to new domain URLs that are available since 27 September 2024.
Steps to follow in ARBCI1 Addon installed SAP ERP or SAP S/4 HANA Systems connecting directly:
- Identify the SAP ERP system (for eg: Test/Prod) where you want to update new domain URLs.
- Follow steps mentioned in SAP Note 3494785 - Domain changes for China, Europe, United States, Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and UAE for new domain. This step is required for ARBCI1 Addon SP21 and below. SP22 and above can skip this step and proceed with next steps below.
- Ensure ARBCIG_CIG_URL table is updated with latest URLs as per notification. You may use SE16n transaction code to review updated ARBCIG_CIG_URL table.
- Run Setup interface via SPRO steps to update all outbound interfaces related to Ariba applications you use. Direct program or transaction code for same are as following:
- SAP Business Network SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP transaction code: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_EXE
- SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP_P2P transaction code: ARBCIG_IF_SETUP_P2P
- Ariba Sourcing/Contracts/SLP SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP_SRC transaction code: ARBCIG_IF_SETUP_SRC
- MDNI SE38: ARBCIG_INTERFACE_SETUP_MDNI transaction code: ARBCIG_MDNI_INTSETUP
- Once Setup interface is successfully executed, check destinations via SOAMANAGER ping tests.
- Update the new hostnames in SM59 RFC Destinations to match the Test or Production environments.
Other points to consider:
- You should test the changes first in your non-production environment as a best practice.
- You do not need to change any IP addresses because only the domains are changing. If you restrict your system’s external connections based on domains, you must allow the new domains in your proxy or firewall.
- You do not need to import a new root or intermediate certificate because they remain the same.
- You continue using your current client certificate until it expires. After expiration, you renew it with the relevant new domains. You will continue to receive regular certificate notifications.
- You can use TLS 1.3, which SAP supports since 29 August 2024. The new domains also continue to support TLS 1.2 with strong ciphers.
- You must manually update the new domain URLs for each outbound interface in SAP PI, SAP CPI middleware, or IES-configured SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud or Private Cloud (SAP S/4HANA On-Premise) systems that connect to SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management, and SAP Business Network.
- The new domain names are included in ARBCI1 SP22 and higher Add-on releases. If you already executed the steps above, you do not need to take any further action after upgrading to SP22. If you did not execute them, you must follow all steps except Step 2.
- If you upgrade to a Support Package lower than SP22, you must repeat only Step 2 because the system overwrites the contents of the ARBCIG_CIG_URL table during the SP upgrade.
- Both the current and new domains operate concurrently until the decommission date specified in the notification EV33942093 - SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network Domain Name Standardization you should strongly consider planning, testing, and adopting the new domains in all your connected environments before the decommission date to avoid integration disruptions.
- Post update URL program execution, the unmodified rows in ARBCIG_CIG_URL table starting with TAUP, TAUT, TCPT and TCRT is expected. TAUP, TAUT belongs to Taulia Addon. If you use Taulia integration please contact Taulia support. TCPT, TCRT are related to regression test central. If you are not using those you can ignore the unmodified entries.
- SAP manages internally the URLs used in SAP Ariba applications to connect to SAP Integration Suite, Managed Gateway for Spend Management, and SAP Business Network, so you do not need to take any action in this regard.
