SAP Ariba Site Migration from HTTP to HTTPS and s1-2 to s1 URL format
Symptom

SAP Ariba sites will be migrated from HTTP URLs to HTTPS URLs and s1-2 to s1 URL format. This change is seamless and is designed to minimize any disruptions to your services. Identify and replace the old application URLs with the new URLs as indicated in the following sections.

You will receive a targeted notification approximately one week in advance of your sites getting migrated.

For example, an email notification was sent to a batch of customers on April 1, 2025 with the following information.

"Please note that on April 9, 2025 (US 5:00 PM PST), we will be migrating your production realms from AFD to PFD."
If you don't update the necessary configurations post-migration, you might experience symptoms like:
  • PunchOut catalog shopping issues
  • Issues with logging in through single sign-on
  • Issues accessing guided buying

Copy the existing Reply URL from your IDP configuration.
Remove the "-2" from the newly added URL entry.

For example, if your current Reply URL is:
https://s1-2.ariba.com/Buyer/Main/ad/samlAuth/SSOActions?realm=<RealmID>

The new Reply URL should be:
https://s1.ariba.com/Buyer/Main/ad/samlAuth/SSOActions?realm=<RealmID>

APIs:

Identify APIs that connect using HTTP URLs and update the endpoint URLs to reflect the transition to the HTTPS URL. Ensure that any authentication or authorization
mechanisms are adjusted accordingly.

Integrations:

Review all integrations that rely on the HTTP URLs, and update configuration settings or endpoints to HTTPS URLs in third-party services or applications.

Firewall/Proxy Settings:

Examine firewall and proxy configurations that involve HTTP URLs, and update rules and settings to accommodate the shift to HTTPS URLs.

Internal Landing Page:

If there is an internal landing page directing users or services to HTTP URLs, modify the links to use HTTPS URLs. Update any documentation or communication materials that reference the current URLs.

Business Network:

Review the endpoint created in SAP Business Network for document routing related to Buying/Sourcing/Guided Buying, and update the URLs (if any) accordingly.

F5/Load Balancer Verification:

Kindly coordinate with your network team to determine if any changes are needed regarding the domain changes or routing the requests to the new URLs.

Keystore/Trust center certificate verification:

If you have added the domain (example s1-2.ariba.com) to the keystore/trust center, please ensure the new domain (example - s1.ariba.com) is also added at the keystore/trust center level.

Guided Buyer URLs:

Users who have bookmarked the old Guided Buyer URLs (e.g., https://s1-2.ariba.com/gb/?realm=XYZ) need to update their bookmarks to the new domain URLs (e.g., https://s1.ariba.com/gb/?realm=XYZ)

WebJumper URLs:

The webjumper URLs (Example - http://REALMID.sourcing-2.ariba.com/ad/webjumper?itemID=ITEM_ID_Reference&awcharset=UTF-8) included in email notifications generated before the migration will redirect users to the homepage instead of the intended document. By copying the webjumper URL, removing the “-2” from the domain (e.g., `http://REALMID.sourcing.ariba.com/ad/webjumper?itemID=ITEM_ID_Reference&awcharset=UTF-8`), and accessing the updated link, users will be directed straight to the intended document.
