I do not understand what an SOW Line Item, also called a characteristic is used for.
SOW Line Items, also called characteristics, are generally used for tracking certain costs on an ongoing project. Examples of SOW line items include: Milestones, Fees, Events, and Schedules.
For example, Fees might be used for certain incidental costs that the supplier can impose upon the buyer, and Milestones or Events may be used to track project deliverables. The specific terms of these line items are generally agreed to before the SOW begins.
Different buyers may choose to configure these items within Fieldglass in different ways. If you're unsure about why or when a certain SOW line item should be used, you should contact the Program Management Office (PMO) of the buyer company. SAP Fieldglass Support can provide the Program Management Office (PMO) contact if you do not already have it.
