What is a Third Party User?
How is it different than an Enterprise User?
A Third Party User is identical to an Enterprise User in the ability to have necessary roles and group assignments. These are users who have had their PasswordAdapter set to ‘ThirdPartyUser’, found in their profile, and can access the site without having to be included in the corporate user database, such as Active Directory, when using corporate authentication with SSO to access Ariba’s sites.
These users tend to be contractors, consultants, or other people needing access to a customer site, without the requirement to be a permanent user in the corporate user base. ThirdPartyUser can access the alternate Ariba URL and can log into the site using Ariba Authentication, even when Corporate Authentication with SSO is turned on. Users will still need to exist and be properly configured in Ariba’s software/files, and will still need sufficient group assignments to login and navigate.
