How can I change a site parameter using the Intelligent Configuration Manager?
As a Customer Administrator, how do I update a parameter in my SAP Ariba Procurement Solutions or SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Solutions site?
The process for changing a parameter depends on its type. You can change Self-service parameters using the Intelligent Configuration Manager (ICM). To change SAP-controlled parameters, you must submit a case with SAP Support.
The following process outlines how to change a Self-service parameter.
- Important: You cannot change parameters directly in a production site. All Self-service parameter changes must be made in a test site, packaged, tested, approved, and then may be deployed to your production site.
- Note: The Intelligent Configuration Manager is not suite-integrated. SAP Ariba Sourcing and SAP Ariba Procurement sites have unique sets of parameters that must be managed separately.
- Note: In Federated Process Control (FPC) environments, you should change parameters in the parent site. The change will then be replicated to the child site(s).
For an overview of the process, see Workflow for Updating Configurations for the Site
-
As a Customer Administrator user Navigate to the Parameters page in Intelligent Configuration Manager
- Click Manage -> Core Administration (for Buying solutions) or Administration (for Sourcing solutions).
- Click Intelligent Configuration Manager > Manage Configurations > Continue
- Click Buying and Invoicing or Sourcing and Contracts.
- Click Parameters.
-
Change the Parameter Value
- Search for the parameter you need to change.
- In the New Value column, set the new value using the specific input control provided for that parameter type.
For more information, see Changing parameter values.
-
Create and Submit the Package
- Select the checkbox for the updated parameter(s).
- Click Add to package.
- Provide a name for the package.
- Click Submit package.
For more information, see Creating a package.
Note: Once a package is submitted, the parameter change(s) take effect in the test site. If you are in a parent test site, the change(s) will also replicate to any child test sites unless they have already been changed/overriden there.
- Test the Package
You must test the changes in the test site.
- On the Intelligent Configuration Manager Home page, find the created package in the My action items tile.
- Open the package and perform all necessary tests.
- If the tests are successful, click Test Pass.
- Attach your test report and comments.
For more information, see Testing a package.
- Approve the Package
Once a package passes testing, you need to approve it.
- In the My action items tile, find the package, which now shows a Ready to approve status.
- Click the package row to review it.
- If correct, Approve the package.
For more information, see Approving a package.
- Deploy the Package
After approval, you can deploy the changes to the production site.
-
- In the My action items tile, find the created package, which now shows a Ready to deploy status.
- Click the package to create a new deployment.
- Provide a name for the deployment.
- Ensure the correct package is selected.
- Click Create deployment.
- Review the deployment details.
- Click Deploy to move the parameter change(s) to the production site.
