Symptom

Users are unable to determine the correct URL to access the Guided Buying application, even though Guided Buying is enabled.

Environment

Cause

Users are attempting to access Guided Buying using an incorrect or outdated URL, which prevents proper access to the application.

Resolution

Guided Buying URL can be built using a URL from the Ariba Buying application and the following template:

https://s1.ariba.com/Buyer/Main?realm=***&guidedbuyredirect=true (GB URL template)

To obtain the Ariba Buying URL, log in to Ariba Buying (to the child level for FPC realms) and look up in the URL address in the browser URL bar. It will look similar to the following URL address:

https://s1.ariba.com/Buyer/Main/aw?awh=r&awssk=a52Gbyda&realm=ABCXYZ&dard=1 (Ariba Buying URL)

Copy the realm name that is located right after the realm= parameter (ABCXYZ in the above example) and paste it instead of three asterisks in the GB URL template. In case your realm is located in other than US data center, you will also need to modify the domain in your GB URL address (s1.ariba.com in the above example). For example, for EU customers it is s1-eu.ariba.com. The resulting GB URL address will look as follows:

https://s1-eu.ariba.com/Buyer/Main?realm=ABCXYZ&guidedbuyredirect=true
