# How to attach a file in a Sourcing event?

## Symptom

How do I attach a file to a Sourcing event?

## Resolution

Your buyer can request an attachment either as part of the event prerequisites or during the response submission step.

1. After you locate the item or question where you are prompted to submit a file, click **Attach a file.**
2. Click the **Choose File** button and select the document.
3. Click **Open**.
4. Click **Ok**.

You may also find the comment icon ![](https://support.ariba.com/images_RTE/1509055dea1ea87a3beAdditional%20comment.png) next to a response box, indicating the need to include a comment and the possibility to attach a file for the item.

1. Click on the comment icon ![](https://support.ariba.com/images_RTE/1509055dea1ea87a3beAdditional%20comment.png)
2. Enter information in the **Comment** field.
3. Click **Attach a file**.
4. Click **Browse** to locate the file on your device.
5. The system displays the file name after you successfully attach it.
6. Click **OK**.
