Why is Postal Code validation in Extended Address not triggered in supplier request or registration creation?

If the postal code validation in Extended Address is not triggered during supplier request or registration creation, the field would have been configured as a String type field.

By default, postal code in extended address is a ExtendedCombo field type. If the ExtendedCombo type field is hidden and String type field is enabled as a customization, the field would accept any string value and would not validate against the postal code master data.

This customization cannot be viewed or changed by customer administrators, therefore please contact your Designated Support Contact to open a Case on SAP for Me so that SAP Ariba Support team can take a look at the extended address customization.
