Environment

SAP Ariba Guided Buying

Resolution

Please follow the below steps to activate the guided buying configurations in the production realm.

  1. Click Guided Buying Test Site > Admin. Download the JSON file and rename it. This file will become your production file (New).
  2. Replace all the test site realm names with the production site ones New file. Replace the test realm URL with the production realm URL. Find and replace all occurrences of your realm name in test (which is designated with a -T) with your production site name.
  3. Login to your guided buying production site and navigate to the Admin section. Download the JSON file and rename it (Old).
  4. Open the Old production file, and search for the PopularPage keyword. Copy the uniqueName (which is found 3-4 lines about the keyword that you searched for.) and add it to the New file in the same place.
  5. Search for the NodeID keyword in the New file. If you don't see any results, then move to step 4 in Site Configuration. If you do see results then refer to the KB0403158: How do we compare the Node ID configuration between Test and Production while configuring Guided Buying?.

Site Configuration Steps:

  2. Upload images used in GB Test and the New file to the production site using the Admin section of the GB Production site.
  3. If you configured Policies in your GB Test site, then refer to the SAP Help Portal: Guided Buying Administration to maintain the same on the GB Production site as well.
  4. Open your GB Test and GB Production site on two web browsers. Refer to the configuration maintained on GB Test site and enable the same parameters on GB Production site.
  5. Refer to the KB0403159: How to sync the Commodity Subset for ad-hoc requests between Test and Production during Guided Buying configuration? If you maintained a subset of commodity codes in test and would like to maintain the same in your GB Production site as well.
  6. If you want to add translations for the Titles and Descriptions of your landing pages and tiles to support users in multiple languages, then please refer to SAP Help Portal: Loading Translations for Your Landing Pages. Similarly you can refer to SAP Help Portal: Loading Translations for Your Policies you want to load Policy Translations.

Do not include the JSON that maps the form tile to one of your landing pages. The forms you migrated are added to the Manage Forms section of your production site. Add the form tile to the landing page file in your production site and link the same to make it available to users. Check and change any commodity code that you need to in the JSON file or directly make changes on the Mange Using UI option of GB Admin site.
