SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle & Performance is slow to load
SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle & Performance is slow to load when opening Supplier Management or creating new supplier requests.
Supplier Management
Login to realm and try to open supplier management or try to create supplier request.
This can be caused by many things such as internet connectivity, security settings or SAP Ariba server response times. You can accurately diagnose the root cause by running some in browser diagnostics. Please follow the steps in Additional Information below to gather the required data for analysis.
- If you are not familiar with advanced browser/network debugging please raise this with your internal IT team or SAP Ariba Technical Support referencing this article.
- If you have debugged using the steps in Additional Information below and found that the largest frustration is to be found in requests waiting time, please raise a Case, referencing this article, for an SAP Ariba Technical Support Engineer to analyse and debug further.
- If you have debugged using the steps in Additional Information below and found that the largest frustration is with download, connecting, sending, stalled or setup times please consult with your IT dept. as this may point to poor connectivity or your local network security setup causing delays.
- If you have debugged using the steps in Additional Information below and are still not sure about the results please raise this with your internal IT team or SAP Ariba Technical Support referencing this article.
- Login to your SAP Ariba Spend Management Solution and navigate to the Home tab, not Supplier Management.
- Press Right Click anywhere on the page and choose "inspect" (or " inspect element" depending on your browser) to open up the developer tools console.
- Navigate to the Network tab in your Developer Tools console.
- In Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome click the clear button located along the top of the console. In IE and edge click the clear session button located along the top of the console. Button icons will vary from browser to browser, so hover over the icon to see it's name.
- Once the console is clear of network requests click the Supplier Management tab in Ariba.
- This will show all of the resources loaded from Ariba's servers and give us information about each load request.
Since SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle & Performance is built using micro-service architecture there will be a lot of requests in the network tab. You will need to analyse these requests to see what is causing the maximum frustration in load times. There should be a column in the developer tools console for the time each request took to complete. To analyse each request:
- click on these requests to generate a new window in the console with more details about the request.
- in this new window click on the timing tab which will breakdown the timings. Each browser will have different details for timing.
It is recommended to consult with your IT dept. when analyzing the data. However, each browser should provide a waiting time. This is the time that Ariba's servers take to respond. The surrounding timings mostly relate to your local environment.
Out of the list of requests it is best to analyse the requests with the longest time to complete first. Then look at the timing breakdown for each of these requests to see which stage of the request is causing the biggest frustration in terms of timing.
