ActiveX Removal for Reports
There is an option to switch the realm to export Analysis reports into Microsoft Excel without using ActiveX.
There is a feature CUP-17662 "ActiveX Removal for Reports". It switches an entire realm and is effective immediately after switching.
The benefits of this feature include:
- Compatibility with all major browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- No need to install additional package to be able to export reports into Microsoft Excel.
- Improved stability.
However there are some limitations to it as opposed to ActiveX export:
- It only works with .xlsx files and templates (can cause this issue). XLSM support is being reviewed in SC-8667.
- It can time out when exporting large reports.
- It does not populate graphs, pivot tables or other advanced Microsoft Excel functions automatically (workaround provided here).
- Exported file names are derived from the template file name instead of the name of the report.
- Reports are exported using the US locale and language regardless of any setting on the realm or the user's computer.
- All the date columns will reflect in text format, In order to change the format of date column please follow the article Date format in exported report is different than the cell format
To have the feature enabled, please log a Case to Ariba Analysis Team.
