The "Abstract Contract Workspace" class is the parent to all types of Contract Workspaces and Contract Requests (Procurement, Sales, and Internal).
Use Case 1: If there is a common field that is applicable to Sales, Procurement, and Internal Contract Workspaces, it can be created at the Abstract level and therefore use only 1 field for double-duty. The Abstract field does not decrement from the reportable fields on any given class except the Abstract.
Use Case 2: All fields of a given type have been depleted on the Procurement, Sales, or Internal classes. When creating a field of any type on the Abstract Contract Workspace class, it automatically flows down and is added to all Contract Workspace and Contract Request classes. In this particular use case it may be necessary to hide the field from the Contract Workspace and/or Contract Request classes where it is NOT needed.
Use Case 3: If a field is needed in the "General Contract Workspace" fact within reporting or is needed as a search filter for "All Types of Contract Workspaces", then it must be created within the "Abstract Contract Workspace" class.
Strategic Contracts
