How do I configure the instructions and description for a guided buying form?
You configure the form instructions for guided buying users when designing the form within the Manage forms section of the guided buying administration page. Guided buying users see this text at the top of the form. The Instructions box doesn't accept HTML, but you can press Enter on your keyboard to break the text into paragraphs.
For request forms (RFQ), you can also configure a separate form description when configuring landing pages (through the landing page designer, landing page Excel file, or landing page JSON file). This lets you provide a different set of instructions to your guided buying users and an externally-facing description for your supplier users who are responding to the RFQ.
Note: For new-style RFQ forms (multiline RFQs), you configure the separate description for the ProcurementForm tile itself. The descriptions for the main line item form, header extension form, and any additional line item forms aren't displayed in the user interface.
The description text is visible in the following places:
The form description attribute can't contain special characters, including HTML, because special characters prevent the guided buying catalog search from working properly. Because suppliers can see this text, make sure you don't include any sensitive information in the description attribute for the form tile.
You can import separate titles and descriptions for tiles for line-item forms (requisition) and custom forms (forms designed in SAP Ariba Buying solutions) in the JSON landing page file, but this isn't supported in the landing page designer for line-item forms.
