# How do I change a user's permissions and role in the SAP Business Network?

## Symptom

How can I manage users' permissions and roles in the SAP Business Network?

## Environment

SAP Business Network

## Resolution

As a prerequisite, only the SAP Business Network **account administrator** or buyer users with the **User Administration** permission, can manage these settings. If you're entitled to proceed, follow the steps below:

To change the Permissions of a user:

1. Click **\[user initials\]** > **Settings** > **Manage Users**
2. Click the Role name you like to edit under **Manage Roles**
3. Tick **Show me all the available permissions** to view all permissions
4. Tick **Permission** to give full access
5. To modify Permissions, Tick/untick \[**Available** **Permissions**\]
6. Click **Save.  
   **

To change the Role assigned to a user:

1. Click **\[user initials\]** > **Settings** > **Manage Users**
2. Click the Role name you like to edit under **Manage Roles**
3. Select the user under **Assigned Users**
4. Click **Remove**
5. Click **Save.  
   **

To move a user from one Role to another:

1. Click **\[user initials\]** > **Settings** > **Manage Users**
2. Click **Role Name** you like to edit under **Manage Roles**
3. Select the user under **Assigned Users**
4. Click **Move to another role**.
5. Choose the role in the **Select role** dropdown
6. Click **Move and Save.**
