How do I know if an approval email is asking me to approve directly or if I am approving on behalf of someone who has delegated their authority?

By default when users delegate authority and the delegatee receives an approval email, there is no indication whether the delegatee is receiving the email because they are the approver or because they are the delegatee on behalf of someone else.


The email template token [APPROVAL_FLOW] shows the current approval status. The original approver's name appears in this information.

See example below. Original Approver was Bobby Barton, but the approval was sent to nicole.rountree@sap.com.

After an approval is done, the review flow shows as:
