Why didn't an approver receive a notification email for an approval task?
When a task is started, all users in line to approve/review a task should receive an email notification.
If the email notification is not received, follow the below steps to troubleshoot the issue:
- Confirm the email address added as approver on the user account is valid.
- Check the notification preferences of the user to ensure the notification type in question is enabled.
- Advise the user to check spam or junk email folders.
- If the user does not have access to spam e-mail or quarantined email, ask the user to engage with their local internal Information Technology (IT) department.
- Advise the user to reach out to the local internal IT department to verify file size limitations.
- If the approval task is configured to send attachments with the notifications and if the attachments are large, the email notifications do not reach the user's inbox.
- Advise the user to reach out to the internal IT of organization to confirm that email server is not blocking emails from the Ariba system. Task emails are sent from the following email address: no-reply@ansmtp.ariba.com.
- Check for possible delegations for the user.
- Notifications will be sent only to the delegatee indicated and not the delegator (the original approver on the task).
Note: The email notification will only be triggered by the task. There is no option to manually resend the email notification to the approver.
