What are prerequisite questions in sourcing events?
Symptom

What are prerequisites in sourcing events? How do I set up prerequisite questions in a sourcing event?

Resolution

Only specific types of content will be visible to participants before they accept the prerequisites in the event. The following explains the different types of prerequisite questions:

  1. No Restrictions
    • This provides preliminary content to the supplier, however it is not required to answer these questions (unless indicated). This setting does not restrict the supplier from viewing content or submitting a response.
  2. Access Gate on Event Content
    • This prevents the supplier from viewing any content other than the prerequisite questions until they respond to the prerequisite questions.
      • If the prerequisite is a Yes/No question, and they answer No, they do not clear the Access Gate and cannot proceed.
  3. Restricting Response Submission
    • This allows the supplier to view all the event content, but prevents them from answering further questions or submitting their response until they submit responses to the prerequisites. This is know as a Participation Gate

You can also decide if the prerequisite questions need to be reviewed.

  1. Requiring Owner Review
    • You also have the option of requiring the Project Owner's approval prior to allowing the supplier to continue with the event. This means that the Project Owner must log in and Accept (approve) the supplier’s response before they can clear the access gate.

The HideContentUntilAgreementAccepted parameter impacts how prerequisites function in your site. When this parameter is set to True, all content is hidden until the Access Gate is cleared, except for Section Headers. Setting this parameter to False hides nothing by default. This adds an additional option to the Visible to Participant field called Yes, after access gate is cleared.

Note: it is important to understand that if this parameter is set to False, any content you wish to hide from the supplier needs to have the Visible to Participant field set to Yes, after access gate is cleared.
