What are advanced pricing details?

SAP Ariba procurement application enables buyers and suppliers to transact beyond the simple conversion of Unit Of Measure (UOM), unit price, and quantity through advanced pricing details capability. Advanced pricing details functionality enables lower level UOM and pricing capabilities through the addition of the following fields:

• PriceUnit
• PriceUnitQuantity
• UnitConversion

SAP Ariba supports the following advanced pricing details:

• Quantity based pricing
• Unit conversion pricing

Example: A buyer orders 20 reams of paper, with the unit price of $5. The unit price of $5 is for 2 cartons of paper, each carton containing 5 reams of paper. The unit conversion between the order unit (reams) and the pricing unit (cartons) is 0.2 (5 reams = 1 carton or 1 ream = 0.2 carton). The price is calculated using the unit conversion and the price unit quantity as:

Price = Quantity * (Unit Conversion/Price Unit Quantity) * Price Unit

= 20* (0.2/2)*5 = $10

• Quantity: The quantity ordered by the end user.
• UnitConversion: The value of individual unit divided by the number in the aggregated unit (box/set/etc).
• PriceUnitQuantity: The count of aggregate units offered together as one assigned by the supplier.
• PriceUnit: The price assigned by the supplier for each unit.
