You receive an ANERR message when an unexpected error occurs.

The following are common scenarios where you might receive an ANERR message:

- Clicking a link or button within your account
- Punch-in failure to your customer's procurement site (for example, [creating a contract invoice](https://support.ariba.com/item/view/KB0404403) or responding to a collaboration request)
- A PunchOut catalog connection failure
