How do I import or update translations for Common and Partitioned commodity codes?
Symptom

Environment

SAP Ariba solutions with access to the Site Manager > Data Import/Export workspace.

Resolution

Users with access to Manage > Administration > Site Manager > Data Import/Export can use the task Import Translations for Commodity Codes to create or update translations for commodity codes.

Please use the following steps to create/update the translations for Common Commodity Codes:

First, create a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file for the import:

  1. Create a CSV file with the following columns: Domain, UniqueName, Name, and Language.
  2. Find the UniqueName (code) and Domain values by running the Export Commodity Codes (CSV) task from the Export tab.
  3. Enter the Domain value (for example, unspsc).
  4. Enter the UniqueName of the commodity code.
  5. Enter the new or updated translation for the commodity code under the Name column.
  6. Enter the supported language of the translation under the Language column (e.g., fr for French, de for German).

With the file prepared, follow the steps below to import the translations:

  1. Click Manage > Administration > Site Manager > Data Import/Export.
  2. Search for the task Import Translations for Commodity Codes and click Import.
  3. From the Languages drop-down menu, choose the language for the translation that you entered in the Language column of your file.
  4. Upload the CSV file you created and click Run.

The same process applies to Partitioned Commodity Codes, but you must use different import/export tasks:

Instead of Export Commodity Codes, use the task Export ERP Commodity Codes.
Instead of Import Translations for Commodity Codes, use the task Import ERP Commodity Code Translations.
