How do I update the currency conversion rates?
To update the currency conversion rates in Ariba Procurement and Invoicing Solutions:
Now you should add the new required conversion rates using a text-editing software program and save the file. After that:
The following rows provide an example of an update to the EUR to USD exchange rate, effective December 1, 2014:
"UTF-8"
FromCurrency,ToCurrency,Rate,Date
EUR,USD,1.36,Wed Jan 01 00:00:00 PDT 2014
EUR,USD,1.23,Mon Dec 01 00:00:00 PDT 2014
As a best practice, if you have an integrated site, always update the currency conversion rates in both Core Administration and Administration to make sure they remain synced.
A currency conversion must remain consistent in both directions. In other words, the exchange rate applied from USD to EUR should accurately correspond to the inverse rate from EUR to USD.
For example, if 1 USD = 0.90 EUR, the reverse conversion should reflect the equivalent inverse rate (approximately 1 EUR = 1.11 USD). Maintaining this symmetry ensures accuracy and prevents calculation discrepancies.
