  Tracking Harmonization
Establish a harmonized tracking experience in SAP Business Network for Logistics. As of now, capabilities are distributed amongst SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration (FC) - Order Management and Dock Appointment Scheduling – and SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace (GTT).In future, there will be a central table for tracking information and a common look and feel for manual event reporting via Web UI in the new ‘Manage Freight Execution’ application. Tracking scenarios supported through FC are clearly distinct from the ones supported in GTT. The current apps ‘Track Freight Movement’ (available to shippers in FC) and ‘Freight Orders for Reporting’ (available for carriers in FC) are replaced by the new app and are planned to be deprecated in May 2026.

General Features - 2508 Service Pack
Feature Name and Description   Feature Overview Demo
Searching shipments via their freight units
On the Worklist page, a new filter Freight Unit No. is added. For multi-mode transportation, you can now search all shipments that are relevant to freight units specified in this filter.

Decimal digits of Emission Intensity value extended
To increase the precision of the Emission Intensity value, the number of digits on both sides of the decimal point is extended:
  • The integer part (to the left of the decimal point) is extended to 20 from 15.
  • The fractional part (to the right of the decimal point) is extended to 8 from 3.

  Worklist table column width adjustment
On the worklist page, you can now adjust the table column width freely by dragging the column border. This improves the readability by avoiding truncated information as in a column with  fixed width.

  Rate limiting
The rate limits of the IDOC interface and Write Service API will   be changed to the following as of November 20, 2025:
  • IDOC interface:
    • For each production tenant, you can send up to 10 requests per second.
    • For each test tenant, you can send up to 10 requests per second and 1000 requests per day.
  • Write Service API:
    • For each product tenant, you can send up to 5 requests per second and 150 requests per minute.
    • For each test tenant, you can send up to 5 requests per second, 150 requests per minute, and 1000 requests per day.

Once it takes effect, please ensure your requests won’t exceed   these limits. Otherwise, they might be rejected.

Event grouping in the Tracking Timeline
Event grouping allows you to reduce duplicate events in the   tracking timeline.

For example, a shipment has multiple tracking units, and you will   see a lot of   duplicate events (of the same event type and   occurred or planned at the same   stop). You can now group   them by their stop location and event type.

As a result, the grouped events are shown as a single event   entry in the timeline, with a color-coded graphical bar showing   the number of grouped events by   status. You can still dive into   details of these grouped events with the Events   hyperlink.

For more, see Group Events in the Tracking Timeline.

   EDIFACT IFTSTA for event tracking
You can now use the message type EDIFACT IFTSTA to track key   business events, such as departure, arrival, and delays, in   tracked  processes for both inbound and outbound connections.

To enable this feature, see Enable EDIFACT IFTSTA for Event   Tracking

  Sunset of project44 legacy APIs

The project44 unified API now supports attachment for road LTL   tracking. Following this, project44 legacy APIs are planned to be   sunset as of February 2026. From then on, the following   project44 connections won’t be available anymore in the   Discover  Business Partners app:

  • Project44, Inc. (10010001289)
  • Project44, Inc. (10000478)
  • Project 44, Inc. - Legacy (200200001038)
  • Project44, Inc. - Legacy NA (20020001039)

To continue using project44 tracking services, you must switch to   the project44 unified API. To do so,

Shippers invite carriers to the network through simplified   account activation in test plan

As a test shipper or solution owner, you can now invite your   business partners as test carriers or data contributors to the   network using the Invite Business Partners app. Invitees can   subsequently activate their accounts through the simplified   account activation process and collaborate with you in the test   environment.

For more information about the simplified account activation   process, see Getting Started with SAP Business Network for   Logistics via New Onboarding Process.

   User assistance
The process documentation for Outsourced Planning of Freight   Units has been enhanced.

In-app help for Manage Entities app

In the Manage Entities app, we added in-app help for selected   fields on the Docking Location screen, such as Appointment Date   Change or Cut-Off Time for Appointment Creation.

You can open the in-app help by selecting in the top right corner.

   Email notification enhancement

The email notifications for shippers now also provide the docking   location address.

To receive notifications, you need to subscribe to the scenarios   of the Dock Appointment Scheduling scenario group in the  Manage Notification Settings (Shipper) app.

  API Documentation
The new deliverable "API Documentation" is now available in the HTML version where you can find content related to APIs provided by SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace. You can find the deliverable under the Develop tab on the product page. It aims to improve information findability by consolidating content on public APIs and GTT backend service interfaces that were previously scattered in two separate guides: How to Send Messages via Tracking APIs Interface Reference Guide.

  Service Level field
In the standard model "gttft1" of the Manage Models app, a new standard model field "Service Level" is added to the Shipment and Tracking Unit tracked processes. In the Visibility Provider Integration tab, it’s mapped with LBN tracking fields in the tracking API: Consumer API for Order Tracking. Therefore, you can send this information to data contributors in the tracking request.

Completion logic of the execution status enhanced
In the standard model "gttft1", a new field "Is Final" is added as a standard model field to all event types. It indicates whether an actual event is the last milestone event or not. It’s used to calculate the execution status of the following tracked processes:
  • Shipment
  • Freight Unit
  • Tracking Unit
  • Outbound Delivery

When an actual event is reported and the value of this field is “true,” then it’s the last milestone event, and the execution status of the tracked process changes to “Completed”. For more on execution status, see “Important Terms.”

  Consumer API for Order Tracking
In the Consumer API for Order Tracking (GTT) and Consumer API for Order Tracking (FC), a new parameter service Level is added to the "Shipment" object. It indicates the scope of agreed service or tracking capabilities provided by data contributors associated with each tracking request, such as milestone tracking, real-time tracking, ETA updates.

Using client certificates for outbound connections
In addition to client credentials, you now can also use a client certificate (key pair) in OAuth 2.0 authentication for outbound connections.

  Maintaining Logical System ID
You can now maintain the Logical System ID when creating a connection in the System Connection app.

This setting helps users using both the freight collaboration and global track and trace solutions avoid duplicated tracking records. It also reduces the effort needed for configuring document links.
For more information, see Creating a Connection and Configuring Links to Business Documents in Source Systems.

Enhanced stop information in Manage Dock Appointments and Self-Book Dock Appointments apps
The stop information in the Manage Dock Appointments and Self-Book Dock Appointments apps has been enhanced. It now shows complete timestamps for arrivals and departures, addressing previous discrepancies when loading and departure dates differed. The Stops section is available only for appointments based on freight orders.

The requested start und end dates for loading or unloading are used to calculate the derived appointment duration when the Use Derived Appointment Duration toggle is enabled for a loading point.

The functionality to manually update the dates and times of an external appointment is no longer available.

In-app help for gate and yard in Manage Entities app

In the Manage Entities app, we added in-app help for selected   fields on the Gate   and Yard screens, such as Arrival Lead Time   or Assignment with Yards.

You can open the in-app help by selecting  in the top right   corner.

   New field
In the Consumer API for Freight Booking a new field Customs   Commodity   Classification Code has been added at the item-     level.

New value in Document Reference Type Codes code list
The Document Reference Type Codes code list has been     enhanced with the       following value:
  • Return Sales Order (32)

  New status
In the Manage Disputes app, a new dispute status In Error has been added.

  Dispute in error

In the Manage Disputes app, during dispute resolution process, once the dispute   is accepted, the system updates the freight order in your external system with   the updated charges. If the update fails, then the external system sends a failed   acknowledgment message. This message sets the dispute status as In Error and   you can resubmit this dispute.

    Error logs
You can now use the message type EDIFACT IFTSTA to track key   business       events, such as departure, arrival, and delays, in   tracked processes for both   inbound and outbound connections.
To enable this feature, see Enable EDIFACT   IFTSTA for Event   Tracking

   Event type deprecation
In the Provider API for Order Events (FC), the GEOLOC event   type has been   deprecated in the freight collaboration   component.

   Restructuring of application help
In the application help, the sequence of topics has changed to   create a more   natural order.

   Enhanced document ID search
The Manage Integration Logs app now allows users to search by   document ID   without requiring a timestamp. The Received On   filter has become optional.

Users have the following search options:

  • Search by Document ID
  • Search by Received On
