This feature allows you to create BOM quotes in guided sourcing. Previously, you could only create BOM quotes in the legacy sourcing interface. The feature also adds material 360° links to items that you add to your guided sourcing project.
Customers are currently unable to collect quotes on their bill of materials (BOMs) within guided sourcing. Without this capability, customers (especially in the direct market) have been unable to collect pricing from their suppliers leading to inefficient in-house processes.
Strategic sourcing customers using direct material sourcing capabilities are now able to collect prices of their BOM from their suppliers, thereby leading to a more efficient sourcing of their direct materials.

This feature has the following prerequisites:
- Guided sourcing must be enabled in your site.
- You must be a member of the Category Buyer group.
- You must be a member of the Materials Manager or Materials Viewer group to see material information.
- For an RFP template to be available in guided sourcing, you must set the Guided Sourcing Template template property to Yes.
- Your site must be integrated with an external system for master data, as described in Common data import and administration guide for SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management solutions.
This feature supports only BOM quotes.
This feature supports only RFP type events.
When you use the product sourcing interface to create a BOM quote event in guided sourcing, you can't edit the External system event setting.
