With this feature, buyers can import bill of materials (BOM) from the buyer’s ERP system to Ariba Network using SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway.
Ariba Network suppliers who are the manufacturers or co-manufacturers do not have visibility of components needed to produce a finished product. In the absence of such visibility, it is not possible to determine the impact to committed supply in case of component shortages that are needed to produce a finished product.
Integration of Bill of Material (BOM) data from a buyer’s ERP system to Ariba Network provides the details of the components that go into a finished product. Sharing this information via BOM collaboration with Ariba Network suppliers who might be co manufacturers helps plan for the components to prevent stock outs.
