This feature introduces support for supplier data integration between SAP Ariba applications and SAP S/4HANA Cloud using SAP Master Data Integration (MDI).
Customers using the SAP Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (IES) for Source to Pay (S2P) processes today have to load supplier data manually using csv files (manual export from S/4 HANA Cloud and import into SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance).
This feature enables the automated replication of Business Partner/supplier data from S/4 HANA Cloud via SAP Master Data Integration (MDI) to SAP Ariba applications.

Caution: enabling this feature when you do not meet these prerequisites can cause serious inconsistencies or disruptions with supplier data, which might be irreversible.
To enable SAP MDI integration and set integration-related configuration parameters in SM Administration, you must be a member of the SM Ops Administrator group. To configure integration settings in SM Administration, you must be a member of the SM ERP Administrator group.
Supplier data integration with SAP S/4HANA Cloud using SAP Master Data Integration (MDI) has the following restrictions:
- Integration with a single SAP S/4HANA Cloud instance is supported. Integration with multiple ERPs, with or without SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), is not supported.
- This integration is not currently available to existing SAP Ariba customers with supplier data loaded in their sites.
- This integration currently only supports unidirectional replication of supplier data from SAP S/4HANA Cloud to SAP Ariba. It does not support synchronization of updates from SAP Ariba back to SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
- This integration supports guided buying requisitioning as defined in the Guided Buying Capability with SAP Ariba Buying (2NV) scope item. It does not support procurement transactions outside this scope.
- Organization and supplier business partners are supported. Business partners without suppliers and business partners as contact persons are not supported.
- Replication of purchasing organization data is supported and it is available for use in requisitioning. Plant and vendor sub-ranges are replicated to the SAP Ariba supplier database and show in the ERP data area of the supplier 360° profile, but aren't supported in partitioned suppliers used for requisitioning.
- Currently, the best practice is to create suppliers in SAP Ariba through replication from SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Creating or updating suppliers in SAP Ariba solutions is not recommended.
