Issue

When sending Request for Quotation (RFQ) from ERP or S/4 HANA to Ariba Network (AN) using Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), the following error is displayed in CIG Transaction Tracker:

Ariba Network Response is :"Not Acceptable" and Error Code:"406" and Error Code Response:"lnvalid Document:Attribute "itemClassification" with value "" must have a value from the list "material service ". at line 168, column 43. Suggested Action : Document Failed in Ariba Network. Error Code : CIG-PLT-00644.

Resolution

To fix this error, correct the item category to one of the supported categories (material or service item) or make the necessary custom changes to support other item category types.

Cause

Unsupported item category used in RFQ scenario which caused fields itemClassification and itemType to be sent without any value to AN in the cXML payload.
