What do I need to know about end of support for Desktop File Sync and Internet Explorer 11?
- The end of support for Desktop File Sync (DFS) is December 31st, and it's in line with Internet Explorer 11 end of support. The DFS feature will still be available and accessible until further notice, but it won't be supported by Technical Support any longer. You can continue to use it at your own risk. Since DFS is dependent on ActiveX/ClientAutomation, Microsoft chose not to carry ActiveX/ClientAutomation compatibility over to any other browsers, which means that DFS is not compatible with other browsers.
- You can enable Enhanced Contract Authoring (ECA) to replace the DFS functionality. Although both functionalities allow assembly of documents, document properties, approvals of changes to clauses, and management of clause libraries, they are not exactly the same.
Several webcasts on ECA can be found in the Best Practice Center Library by searching for ECA in the search option.
We highly recommend reviewing the documentation About enhanced contract authoring to understand how to use ECA. For functional, how to specific guidance, we recommend connecting with your Customer Engagement Executive to discuss services or Beset Practice Center support. Additional knowledge articles are available on Ariba Connect.
