User is not able to Approve or Deny Requisitions (and any other Approvable objects) via Email notification. When User clicks the action button (Approve, Deny), system opens blank web page in a Browser, instead of creating new Email object.
Web Browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, etc.) was set as Default App for MAILTO Protocol instead of Email client (Outlook) in User's Windows setting. As the action buttons (Approve, Deny, etc.) are using MAILTO Protocol, system opened new web page in the Browser, which is not desired behavior. Desired behavior is, that system creates and opens new Email object, which once sent by User, will automatically perform the requested action in Ariba...
Need to set Outlook (or other Email client that User is using) as Default App for MAILTO Protocol.
Following are steps to do so in Windows 10:
Open Start
Search for and open Default apps
Click Choose default apps by protocol (at the bottom of the page)
Search for MAILTO Protocol on the left side of the screen (by scrolling down)
Change the default app for this protocol, simply by clicking on the current app (will probably be web browser) and choose the desired/new app (Outlook) from the pop-up list. See attached screenshot as an example of how the desired setting should look like (in case you are using Outlook as your Email client).
Following are steps to do so in Windows 11:
Open Start
Search for and open Default apps
Search by scrolling down until you find Mail and click
Change the default app for MAILTO, simply by clicking on the current app and choose the desired/new app (Outlook) from the pop-up list.

Some Browsers (Firefox, Opera) offer Users direct option to set them as Default App for MAILTO Protocol. This is often the reason behind this issue, as Users may choose this option without the knowledge of possible negative consequences.
Following is an example of the web page URL that opens upon Approve action in the Browser, when Browser is set as Default App for MAILTO protocol:
