2002
Ability to upload bill of materials (BOM) by using CSV files [DMS-3695]
This feature enables product sourcing users to import BOM data from external systems that are not integrated with SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite and helps you perform sourcing activity, such as establishing suppliers, estimating costs, and defining high-level contracts with suppliers, based on the imported BOM data.
      2002
Ability to capture detailed cost breakdowns [DMS-5695]
This feature gives buyers the ability to capture cost breakdown information directly in SAP Ariba Sourcing using cost group functionality and cost sheets. Buyers can create multiple cost groups, enabling suppliers to enter pricing information and custom content as part of the sourcing event. Buyers can then transfer the cost breakdown information from the sourcing event directly to product sourcing. Additionally, the feature provides an API to transfer the entire supplier bid information to an external system.

2002
Support for additional Bill of materials (BOMs) types [DMS-8893]
This feature enables buyers to import all types of BOMs - a group BOM, normal BOM, variant BOM, or multi-BOM. The uniqueness of the BOMs is defined by BOM number, Alternate BOM number, and Usage.

    2002
Ability to import plant specific custom fields [DMS-9447]
This feature enables buyers to import the plant-specific custom fields from the ERP system to product sourcing.

This feature allows pricing conditions to be set for basket lots.
    see release guide 2005
  Product questionnaires [SSR-796]
This feature allows buyers to collect detailed specifications for each item within a sourcing event using product questionnaires. Questionnaires are specific to a product category so that when an item from the product category is added to an event as a line item, the product questionnaire is associated with that line item.

2005
Ability to embed CLID as tables in assembled contract documents [SSR-799]
Contract line item terms and ad hoc sourcing event questions can now be added to a contract document (main agreement or contract addendum) that is associated with a contract workspace template or contract workspace in table format.

2005
Adding sourcing event questions to contract workspaces [SSR-833]
With this feature, questions that are copied to a sourcing event that are not tagged as contract terms can be added to a contract workspace as contract terms on an ad hoc basis.

2005
Support for tags for bills of materials (BOMs) and materials [DMS-8891]
Product sourcing users of SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite can add tags to the bills of materials (BOMs) and materials that they own.     see release guide 2005
Ability for users to customize widgets and tiles on the product sourcing dashboard [DMS-11158]
This feature enables buyers using the product sourcing features of SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite to add custom widgets and tiles to the product sourcing dashboard based on advanced search criteria that they specify and save. This feature also provides drag and drop, hide, and unhide capabilities to enable buyers to specify the order and appearance of the widgets on the product sourcing dashboard.
      see release guide  2008
Usability enhancements to the cost breakdown functionality [DMS-11261]
This feature provides enhancements to the cost breakdown functionality for buyers and suppliers in SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite.

The enhancements enable buyers to perform the following tasks:
* Define a formula for the Price term in the RFP event template based on the cost group total values
* Configure multiple cost group terms as rollup terms
* Add cost groups to analytical reports
* Export an event with cost groups to an external system for analysis
* Import the cost group content of a line item to an event from an Excel file

The enhancements enable suppliers to perform the following tasks:

* Export an event with cost groups to an external system for analysis
* Submit bids for an event with cost groups by using an Excel file

This feature also introduces a streamlined and enhanced user interface, Cost breakdown. The Cost breakdown user interface page allows the buyers and suppliers to view and edit the cost groups content in a single page.

Ability to deactivate item pricing and BOM split information in bulk [DMS-12015]
This feature enables buyers using the product sourcing features of SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite to deactivate contracted price, estimated price, AML split, and BOM split information in bulk by using a CSV file. You can use the Pricing or BOM Split Excel template available from the Import Data page of the Product Sourcing Manager dashboard and set the Active column value of the entry that you want to deactivate to False. When an entry is deactivated, the same is displayed as blank in the UI and Excel exports. Previously, to deactivate a record, buyers had to manually edit the information for each of the items from the UI.
    see release guide 2008
Ability to add constraints on line level Region and Commodity fields in an optimization scenario [OPT-456]
This feature gives the buyer the ability to group items based on region and commodities, apply constraints to this item group and restrict the number of suppliers.  This allows a buyer to apply constraints and shortlist suppliers on items that belong to a certain commodity code.  It also allows a buyer to apply constraints and shortlist suppliers on items that are to be sourced for a particular region.

Buyers can also update the AML split information from any day of the month for alternative parts in such BOMs. Previously, the estimated price, lead time, BOM split, and AML split values were supported only from the beginning of a month and this limitation was delaying implementation of BOMs until the beginning of the next month.
    New Feature Article 2011
  Enhancements to BOM support [DMS-12476]
This feature enables buyers using the product sourcing features of SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite to:

-view a graphical representation of total cost projection for future months.
-create custom templates for CSV-file-based BOM upload.
-assign owners and AML suppliers to materials by using the BOM CSV.

    2011
Ability to import BOM data without PlantID [DMS-12812]
This feature enables buyers to import BOM data into product sourcing even if the BOM does not have a plant assigned to it. If the buyers set the DEPLOYMENT_MODE_PLANT_ASSIGNMENT_REQUIRED parameter to false and upload BOM data to product sourcing without an SAP plant ID, PLACEHOLDER_PLANT is assigned as the PlantID for such BOMs. Previously, PlantID was a mandatory field and BOM import without a valid SAP plant ID failed. Support for placeholder plants enables buyers to initiate sourcing activities and to collect prices even if a plant is not assigned to the BOM.
    New Feature Article 2011
Ability to copy contracted price from the placeholder plant to actual plants [DMS-12906]
This feature enables buyers to copy contracted prices collected using the placeholder plant to actual plants and to create PIRs for the items based on the actual plants and the contracted price copied from the placeholder plant. The placeholder plant is assigned to items that do not have plants and enables buyers to collect prices when the actual plant information is not available. Buyer users who are members of the Customer Administrator group can copy the contracted prices of items from the placeholder plant to one or more plants when the actual plants are assigned.
    New Feature Article 2011
Automatically add content to sourcing events based on event header attributes [SSR-1624]
Previously, the Category Attribute Hierarchy allowed customers to automatically add questions or terms when a line item was added within a sourcing event. Now, with this enhancement, customers have the flexibility to add content such as questions or terms to an event automatically when it is created based on the event’s various header fields. To achieve this, the feature now offers content administrators the ability to create conditional rules which govern when content should be added to an event.
    New Feature Article 2011
Support for attachments in Category Attribute Hierarchy [SSR-1798]
The Category Attribute Hierarchy can be used as a central library for sourcing content associated with various attributes, such as categories and regions. This feature allows users to also add attachments directly in the Category Attribute Hierarchy and use them subsequently in sourcing events.
