What are the validation rules?
- Validation rules are a set of constraints applied on catalog item field value depending on your business requirements.
- When creating a validation rule you can specify whether the value for a catalog field is mandatory or optional, and also specify the value that is expected in a catalog field.
- A catalog fails validation if a catalog field value on any line item fails to meet the constraints set in a validation rule.
- You can specify whether a validation failure must result in an error or a warning. For example, you can define a rule to display an error if the expiration date of an item in earlier than the current date. Or, you can define a rule to display a warning message if the lead time of an item is greater than a specific value.
