Error: Connectivity Operation Failed with: Unauthorized
Error: Connectivity Operation Failed with : Unauthorized and HTTP401 - Authorization denied for the credentials provided for basic authentication. in SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network when running the Connectivity Tool outbound test
This error happens because Managed Gateway for Spend&Network was not able to authenticate in ERP and Cloud Connector using the credentials maintained by the user in Managed Gateway for Spend&Network portal.
There could be multiple reasons for this error:
- The project associated with the connection is In Progress status: The connection is not published for test or production while the project is In Progress. You need to move your project to In Testing or In Production status based on whether you are connecting to a test or prod system.
- The credentials are not maintained correctly: Double check if the user and password matches the credentials configured in SAP ERP in SU01.
- The user maintained does not have sufficient permission in SAP ERP system, this often causes a 403 forbidden error as well:
- Login in ERP system.
- Check if you see entry for the failed transactions in SRT_MONI transactions or relevant logs in SLG1.
- Execute a authorization check trace on ST01 transaction for the user configured in Managed Gateway for Spend&Network during the connectivity test, so you can see where the authorization is failing.
- The Managed Gateway for Spend&Network certificate is not maintained in SAP ERP in STRUST transaction:
- Login in Managed Gateway for Spend&Network portal.
- Click Resources > Managed Gateway for Spend&Network Certificates > Test or Prod.
- Download the certificate and install in ERP in transaction STRUST.
- Please insert SAP_ALL authorization for user on SAP system.
- Make sure the set user type as Dialog.
- Make sure you don’t have any (own) certificate on Cloud Connector, if you have, this will be the first authentication method between the Cloud connector and ERP interface and the password will be ignored (this is not covered by standard Managed Gateway for Spend&Network integration).
- To include document Status Update in the set up interface program whenever you are running connectivity tool.
