Why was I able to over-receive beyond the thresholds set by the over-receiving parameters?

Answer

There are two ways that the over-receiving parameters can be violated:

  1. Imported receipts are not validated against the over-receiving parameters. In otherwords, you can always over-receive with imported receipts regardless of parameter settings.
  2. The purchase order (PO) is closed after a composing receipt is saved with a quantity or amount that violates the over-receiving parameters. This behavior can be changed by enabling the parameter Application.Procure.DeleteReceiptsInComposingWhenClosingOrders. Enabling this parameter will cause any composing receipts to be deleted when the order is closed for receiving or closed for all actions. These instances can be identified by checking the PO History tab and verifying that the PO was received at the same time it was closed.
