How do I use the Excel Import option to upload my responses into a sourcing event?

Answer

Choosing the option to import your responses to an event using the Excel Import feature will take your answers within the Excel file and populate them into the corresponding answer fields of the event.

To import your responses:

  1. Log into your SAP Ariba supplier account.
  2. Click Ariba Apps > Sourcing. 
  3. Locate sourcing event from appropriate customer tab.
  4. Click Submit Response step from Checklist menu.
  5. Click Excel Import below the event content.
  6. Browse for your Excel file to import.
  7. Click Upload.

With a successful import, your answers will now appear in the appropriate answer fields. If there are any errors or empty required fields, the system will prompt you to correct or populate them before importing again.

Please note: Your actual Excel file will not appear anywhere in the event.

Additional Information

Excel Import is typically best used when responding to sourcing events containing more than 100 questions. Answering within the UI is best when responding to events with less questions.
