CUP-15731 - Service Item Hierarchy Support in Sourcing and Contracts
What features/parameters do I need to toggle for Service Item Hierarchy function?
SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracts support Service Lines. Materials and Service Lines can be incorporated in the same document. Unlike Materials, Services are hierarchical in nature:
- Service Line as the top-level line
- Service Outlines are group of service specifications containing no terms
- Service Specifications are the actual Service details
- Service Outlines are group of service specifications containing no terms
Additional enhancements were implemented following the initial release. These enhancements were tracked under CUP-17355, and introduced below functionality:
- Permit Service Specifications to have it's own definition i.e. it's own set of item attributes (terms)
- Enable support for Line Item Types such as Standard, Blanket, Contingent, Information and Open Quantity
- Allow for alternate Line Items, giving an opportunity for the buyer to request quotes for both the line items and then decide which one to chose during the execution phase.

- Your site must be integrated with an external SAP system using SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway(CIG) version CI 9, SP2 HF 13 or later.
- The SAP RFQ and award Integration with SAP Ariba Sourcing feature is configured for your site.
Complex Service Hierarchy is off by default. Request SAP Ariba Support to enable the below features and parameter:

Once the features are enabled, enable this parameter in the realm: Application.ACM.ComplexServiceHierarchy.Enabled
- If you are sending award data back to the external system, changing or adding alternative service specifications to sourcing requests or events is not supported.
- Alternative service specifications and non-standard service line types are not exported to external systems from contract line items documents. The SAP Ariba Contracts option Send to External System does not send the alternative service specifications and non-standard service line types (the cXML Contract Request document does not support elements to send this information).
- The Simplified Excel Import functionality does not support Service Hierarchy: Simplified Excel import of line items (SC-8889)
- Service Lines, Outlines and Specifications are not reportable; it's not currently supported.
