This feature is only supported on SAP Ariba cloud integration release 9.0 HF19. If you are an existing user using SAP Ariba cloud integration release 9.0, ensure that you import the files from release 9.0 HF19.

Previously, when a buyer using SAP Business Network adapter for SAP NetWeaver created a request for quotation (QuoteRequest) and maintained text description at the header-level and line-item level for internal and external users, SAP Business Network adapter for SAP NetWeaver did not group the text descriptions based on internal and external users. SAP Business Network adapter for SAP NetWeaver sent all the text descriptions for the header and line-item level in the Header Comments and Item Comments elements in the QuoteRequest document.

Now, when a buyer creates a request for quotation on the SAP ERP system, the buyer can send the text descriptions at the header-level and line-item level for internal and external users. in the request for quotation. SAP Business Network adapter for SAP NetWeaver sends the text for both internal and external user in separate categories on the SAP ERP system.

If the buyer creates a request for quotation against a purchase requisition, the text description for both the internal and external users available in the purchase requisition appears in the request for quotation.

Buyers can view the text description marked as internal user at the header-level and line-item level on the SAP ERP system. Suppliers can view the text description marked as external user at the header-level and line-item level on SAP Business Network and SAP Ariba Sourcing.

Limitation: Although SAP Business Network adapter for SAP NetWeaver sends the header-level and line-item level text description, users on SAP Ariba Sourcing can only view the text descriptions for internal and external users at the line-item level. SAP Ariba Sourcing does not allow users to view the text descriptions for internal and external users at the header level.

The QuoteRequest document stores the text description for both the external and internal users grouped together as individual extrinsic elements.

Technical changes

The mapping files for the QuoteRequest have been enhanced to include the text descriptions for both internal and external users in the extrinsic fields marked as INTERNALNOTE and EXTERNALNOTE.

The function module /ARBA/RFQ_GET_DETAILS has been enhanced to process the long text descriptions for both internal and external users.

A new table /ARBA/RFQ_TEXTS is available for buyers to categorize the long text description specified at the header-level and line-item level for internal and external users in the Request for Quotation. Buyers need to maintain the text ID for the long text description for both internal and external users in the table, /ARBA/RFQ_TEXTS on their SAP ERP system. Each of the long text description needs to be marked for internal or external users. Additionally, buyers need to maintain the text IDs for each of the long text descriptions in the Define Texts for Request for Quotations SPRO configuration. SAP Business Network adapter for SAP NetWeaver uses the filtering logic in the function module /ARBA/RFQ_GET_DETAILS based on the text entries maintained in the table, /ARBA/RFQ_TEXTS.

Buyer must take the new transport and mapping files to use this functionality in SAP Ariba cloud integration release 9.0 HF19 .

ACTION REQUIRED FOR NEW AND EXISTING CUSTOMERS

1. Log in to SAP Ariba Connect. If you do not have a User ID and Password for Ariba Connect, contact your Ariba account executive.

2. On the Home page, click Download Software.

3. Click I Accept to accept the Ariba Software access agreement to go to the Download Software for Ariba, Inc. page.

4. Choose SAP Business Network adapter SAP Netweaver as the Product Line.

5. Download the AribaNetworkAdapterSAPNetweaver_ vCI_9_HF19 _UP.zip file.

6. Import the AribaNetworkAdapterSAPNetweaver.Design.tpz file into your SAP Process Integration system.

7. Import the relevant SAP transport files into your SAP ERP system.
