Can I set up a task or phase to start automatically upon completion of a predecessor task?

Answer

Yes, you can have a task or phase to start automatically upon completion of a predecessor task. This can be achieved using the task rule, Start When Dependencies Complete. This rule becomes available once you select a predecessor to the task.

You can enable this rule on a task by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to Tasks tab of the project, workspace or template where you would like a task to be started automatically
  2. Create a new task or edit an existing task you would like to start automatically
  3. Choose a task to populate the Predecessors field
  4. Click the checkbox to enable Start When Dependencies Complete
  5. Finish filling out the rest of the task details and click OK
