Symptom

How do I enable services procurement or Service Entry Sheets (SES) in my company's SAP Ariba Procurement solution?

Resolution

As an administrator, set the following self-service parameters via Intelligent Configuration Manager (ICM):

Set Application.Procure.EnableServiceItemFieldInRequisition to Yes
Set Application.Procure.EnableItemCategoryOnRequisitionLine to Yes for SAP-variant realms, if you want to use the item category D to indicate a service item
Set Application.Procure.EnableSimpleServices to No, if you want to create SES against service POs or service PO-based invoices with child service items

Then, for SAP-variant sites, maintain at least one commodity code with item category D (service) via the task Import ERP Commodity to Commodity Mapping.

In addition, in order to allow creating service entry sheets against service order, the feature CreateServiceSheet should be enabled for your site. Please request your DSC to submit a case to our support asking for this feature to be enabled.

Finally, if you plan to create SES in your SAP Ariba Procurement solution, add users to the group Service Sheet Entry User so that they can create SES against a service order.
